Prepare for the unexpected! Ginger & Spice, comprised of fellow redheaded harpists Ann McLaughlin and Molly O’Roark, is a crossover harp duo combining harp playing, singing, acting, dancing, and comedy into lively, romping-good-time shows. Besides performing an eclectic range of repertoire from Gershwin to Coldplay, McLaughlin and O’Roark have championed the four-hands-one-harp technique. The duo’s shows mix up the concert tradition, interweaving classical and popular music into a fun, multisensory rush. With a focus on bringing harp to unexpected places, Ginger & Spice has performed in a wide variety of venues and contexts from the Illinois Public Media’s radio show Live & Local with Kevin Kelly, and the Illinois Summer Harp Class, to the Beckman Institute and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. In 2016, the duo guest lectured and performed for a physics course titled Where the Arts Meet Physics and were featured performers at the American Harp Society, Inc. National Conference in Atlanta, GA. For more about Ginger & Spice, follow the duo on Facebook and YouTube @gingerandspiceduo.
